Avoid Toxic Culture
The company CEO called me into his office.
I set there for 2 hours to "review a marketing campaign"
During those two hours the CEO:
1. Answered a call from a customer and his wife
2. Let 3 other people come in and 'run something by him'
3. Ordered lunch
4. Replied to emails
He never excused himself or apologized, because he didn't seem to think I mattered.
It was one of the most humiliating experiences in my career.
It took me a while to realize it, but I had a choice:
I could continue pretending "it's not too bad"
or I could leave.
After that meeting,
I went back to my desk and started updating my resume.
Two months later I left.
Toxic culture isn't something you should tolerate
it's a sign you are in the wrong place.
